Scholastic News

Scholastic News Magazine will be assigned frequently throughout the year.  A hard copy of the magazine and a checklist with tasks will be passed out in class, usually on Thursdays.  Students will have one week to complete the items on the checklist.  Since it is important to have evidence to back up your answer choices, students will be asked to underline evidence in the articles to show where they found the proof for the correct answers!  It takes some practice but the improvement I often see in kids' reading skills is worth the effort!

Thanks for your support, parents/guardians, in helping your student read carefully, find evidence, and use time management to get their work done on time!  All of these skills are important to academic success!

Issues are most easily done using the hard copy handed out in class.  There is an online version also, if the magazine is misplaced or left at school.
